It’s the night before Christmas when all through the house, not a creature was stirring…..
Our buffer families continue to look after their rescues – feeding, cleaning, loving. Since we had a few adoptions this past week, our volunteer made all the follow-up phone calls to adopters. We want to ensure things are going well, remind adopters of vaccination dates, answer questions, confirm mailing addresses and whether they wish to subscribe to our monthly newsletter.
We send each adopter an Adoption package. It includes a letter thanking them for adopting from us – thus saving a life. We remind them of their contractual agreement (spay/neuter/indoor only) and relate their cat’s history (when and where picked up, when pulled from Animal Services, vaccination record). A handwritten card unique to their cat, vet documents and a Kitty Kare designed magnet are included.
People continue to be so very generous. We have income tax receipts and thank you letters to send to our donors. Canada Post loves us! With over 700 Adoption packages and thank you letters mailed out, we are probably part owners of the Corporation.
It is easy to let rescue work take over one’s life so after a few hours this morning and making a list of what needs to be done, paperwork can be left for now. Christmas preparations and family time next.
Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night.
